On Aug. 19, the Calgary Flames unveiled their 40th Anniversary logo to fans. The Atlanta Flames relocated to Calgary in 1980 and in the Flames’ 2019-20 season, the team will be celebrating 40 years in the city.
The Calgary Flames have re-signed forward Sam Bennett to a two-year $5.1 million deal. The Flames signed Bennett ahead of his arbitration hearing scheduled July 27.
The Calgary Sport and Entertainment Company (CSEC) and the City of Calgary have decided on a proposed agreement July 22. The City is to pay around half of the arena costs, which is predicted to be around $550 million. That would mean both sides will be pitching in around $275 million.
