The Calgary Sport and Entertainment Company (CSEC) and the City of Calgary have decided on a proposed agreement July 22. The City is to pay around half of the arena costs, which is predicted to be around $550 million. That would mean both sides will be pitching in around $275 million.

Mike Smith has established himself as a playoff contender one game into the playoffs, but there is a long way to go. Smith recorded a 4-0 shutout and an assist in game one. Smith’s 26 save effort has earned him the starting spot for game two.
