The Calgary Flames have decided to place veteran defenceman Michael Stone on waivers Aug. 1.
The purpose of placing Stone on waivers is for a buyout, Elliot Friedman said on Twitter.
Stone had 21 points in 115 games with the Flames. Last season, he played in only 14 regular season games mostly due to a blood clot in his arm in late November 2018.
According to Cap Friendly, Stone’s cap hit is $3,500,000.
Stone had one year remaining on the three-year, $10.5-million deal he signed with Calgary in 2017.
